Infertility is defined as the incapacity to produce offspring. Of course there are many stipulations to the term infertility and this must not be confused with sterility. Understanding the signs and causes of infertility is very important before going for treatments. There are some signs of infertility that you can watch out for if you suspect you are infertile. These signs of infertility only suspect but not specifically confirmed that you are infertile. Therefore, you should always seek for an experienced medical practitioner’s advices if you suspect you have some signs of infertility.
Women - Signs of Infertility
Among the many varied possible signs of infertility, the most common infertility in women is an irregular menstrual cycle. If the monthly discharge of blood from the uterus of nonpregnant women is irregular may be one of the signs of infertility, but it does not necessarily mean that you are infertile.
Other signs of infertility can be a weight problem. Thinness is not a problem, but if it is due to lack of nutrients, then it may have the problem of conceiving. Others on the other hand have no problem conceiving in spite of their thinness. Obesity can also be one of the signs of infertility. People who have excess body fat, may have an adverse effect on hormonal problems and affecting their reproductive system.
Substance and alcohol abuse can also be signs of infertility. If they can make a person unable to conceive, then they are the causes of infertility rather than signs of infertility. People who frequently use illegal drugs and other substances that can harm the body are likely candidates of being unable to produce children. These substances and alcohol abuse can affect the way your body works and may discourage the proper growth and conception of fetuses.
What To Look For In Men
Men and women share the similarity on some of the signs of infertility. Weight problems such as obesity and substance abuse can be the signs of infertility as well. These signs of infertility affect men and women in the similar way. They cause the body to malfunction in such a way that it cannot host a fetus or produce the right amount or form of the male reproductive cell to conceive. Anatomic or physical problems may also be signs of infertility in men. Undescended testicles can prove to be a factor to infertility. For conception, wearing tight jeans or underwear can cause the men unable to produce viable cell. Their scrotum and gonads should not be exposed to heat or else their ability to produce children will be affected.
These signs do not necessarily mean that you are infertile if you have them. It is always best to consult a specialist for infertility treatments if you have difficulty conceiving for more than a year.
