There are times when I just would love to lay out on a warm beach or sit in the shade by a  pool, reading a good book.  In this economy, most of us are being a lot more careful about how we spend our money. From what I can tell hitting the road for distant places is not going to happen too much in the near future for a lot of us.  If you do have a little money for a sunny vacation, here are some ideas about affordable destinations where you can find some warm weather.

There are quite a few websites offering travel deals to fun warm-weather places throughout Mexico and other Caribbean countries.  There are quite a number of options in vacation destinations in that part of the world.  Consider also Jamaica and Playa del Carmen.  But research carefully your intended destination, not only to ensure a safe and trouble-free trip but also to learn about the area (culture, history, interesting attractions, etc.) to make the trip more fun.  Fortunately you can accomplish a lot of study in a short period of time with a good internet connection.
