What Are Signs That You Need To Lose Weight?

Do you say “I want to lose weight?” True, not everyone who feels he should lose weight really need to. Some are just obsessed with weight loss, whereas other do really need to lose weight. Are you one of those who are obsessed with weight loss?

You know you belong to those who really need to lose weight if you are obesed. While most peopel cannot make the distinction between being obese and being overweight, there is a big difference. You can be said to be obese when you are overweight by as much as thirty or forty pounds. In this case, you really need to lose weight. Of course, the primary concern of most obese people is their appearance. But as far as obesity is concerned, ones health is far more important that appearance. The reason is that obesity could lead to death, the result of several health-related problems, one of which is heart disease.

Look back and ask yourself, “those clothes that ones fitted perfectly, have they now become really tight?” If so, that is a sign that you are gaining weight really fast. While it is normal to gain weight or experience slight fluctuation in weight at some certain periods, a rapid weight gain is not something you should overlook. Most people experience weight gain really fast. Small weight gain gradually becomes large, thus endangering your overall wellbeing. When this happens, begin making arrangement to join a fitness club or develop a daily or weekly exercise routine. The benefit of this is four fold. One, having an exercise program will help you lose weight; two, your appearance and general self esteem will improve drastically; three, this will contribute to your overall health and wellbeing; and four, you will be spared the extra burden of having to buy new clothes.

What if you have been told by your friends that you really need to lose weight? They may have a point. Before taking that step, consider who is making the complain. Is the person really concerned about you overall well-being? Is he being reasonable? Is the recommendation from your doctor? Then it may be necessary that you take their recommendations into consideration. Many people would become embarrassed when they are told to lose weight. Bear in mind that the person making the recommendation may really have your interest at heart. Their concerns may go beyond your appearance; it may be concerns with your health. So do not feel embarrassed and turn a deaf ear to their suggestions.

Another clear sign that you need to start an exercise program in other to lose weight and remain fit is when tasks that at one time were easy have become difficult and strainous. There is a chance that you now easily go out of breath from performing simple task because you have a weight problem. Even with a little loss of weight, you will very likely see that carrying out daily tasks become easier.

This is by no means an exhaustive list of signs that show you need to lose weight. It is just a beginning. Bear in mind that caution should be applied when you are thinking of starting an exercise routine. Consult your doctor before proceeding. This has the added benefit of helping you get the best out of your weight loss program.
